Piracy News & Commentary

The Arctic Sea Mystery

I’ve been meaning to post something on the mystery of the Arctic Sea, a cargo ship which was variously reported as missing, pirated, and perhaps secretly transporting Russian missiles off the coast of Europe last year. The story has all the trappings of a good spy novel, including cover stories, Russian and Israeli agents, and purported secret arms shipments. The truth remains unpublished, and the various official accounts are riddled with holes. Lacking the time to research and write a serious analysis, I’ve posted the following articles, most of which were forwarded to me by Shelley Barber, who has my thanks.
